Mumbai, Jan 30: Industry mainstay Sapphire Tuff, founded in 2009 and has over 15 years of groundbreaking expertise in the glass processing field, has become the nation's leading toughened glass maker, consistently setting new industry standards. Sapphire Tuff is proud and pleased to announce the opening of its second factory in Pune, equipped with the latest generation convection technology furnace. This is a benchmark opening for the company, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, safety, and meeting the evolving demands of the market.

In a strategic move to meet the growing demand for processed glass in the region, the new factory marks a new milestone in Sapphire Tuff’s journey, as they expand their presence in Pune with one factory already up and running for 24 hours a day.

Ali Asgar Rampurwala, Director, Sapphire Glass Solutions expressed his insights on the launch of the new factory, “Sapphire Tuff has launched our second factory in Pune, designed with state-of-the-art convection technology furnace. This is a significant milestone for our company, and we aim to push the barriers of glass processing to provide the most unique offerings for our customers while also adhering to best business practices in manufacturing and sustainability.”

Sapphire Tuff is boasting a state-of-the-art convection technology furnace, representing the latest generation of glass processing at their new facility in Pune. This cutting edge technology enhances capabilities to produce high-quality, precision-engineered glass products for various applications. They also plan to use the facility as an opportunity to boost local employment and wellbeing. With 25 employees currently working at the facility, they plan to hire more personnel and improve economic growth as production scales up and shifts increase.

In the same vein, Sapphire Tuff takes its responsibility to safeguard employees and their surroundings very seriously, especially with complicated methods like glass processing. The new factory adheres to all safety standards set by the government, and its location within an MIDC industrial zone ensures strict compliance with safety parameters to obtain licenses and certifications. The company in addition has also noted a concerning trend of builders in Pune using raw, unprocessed glass in residential projects. The Building Code of India (CBC) has restricted the use of raw glass above the ground floor since using raw glass above that poses a safety hazard. The new factory is strategically positioned to address this concern, offering a processing facility ready to meet the anticipated shift towards the use of toughened glass in upcoming developments.
